We wind back a couple of episode numbers to Episode 139 (Episodes 140 & 141 are dedicated to our interviews with Jenna Elfman & Bobbie Grace , respectively), where we finally recorded our thoughts on #FearTWD's Season 6 Finale. This is a particularly short episode, mostly due to the fact that this episode wrap things up pretty neatly in bow, but there were some thoughts we cleaned up and some ideas that we wanted to work through as a result of watching this several times before a month and a half and a couple times after.
The Unedited Episode Recording is available and contains a juicy pre-show, with some lovely #BehindTheScenes tidbits, as well as COUNTLESS cancelable utterances in-between! To grab this (and more) and support our #podcast, click here:

AKA: @BlazyGardener

  • Better late than never (1½ months later)? …did you miss Dave reacting to FearTWD’s Season 6 Season Finale?
  • Favorite moments of the episode: Sherrandy = Sherry’s Righteous anger / Rachael = Rollie’s Righteous Pose / Dave = John Dorie Sr’s & June Dorie’s Forgiveness

  • It’s never too late: the moment when Sherrandy was the first to admit she felt bad for Dakota. The Dories forgiving her was their own means of salvation.
  • Remember when we were pretty impressed with Teddy Maddox? Uh, well…
  • Wondering about all the relevant bits that were undoubtedly left on the cutting room floor (and whether some of that was due to COVID-19 restrictions).
  • Something is always going to make Morgan Jones late, but at least he and Grace Mukherjee finally smooched before the bombs dropped.
  • How someone like Morgan can come to terms with dying together with Grace. Grace has to come to terms with living under fallout with Mini-MoMo.
  • Grace’s possible path to leadership? Alternatively, becoming a mother to all the lost children.
  • Brigitte Kali Canales’ amazing performance as Rachel in the opening scene. Silencing our own inner critics.
  • Discussing the cutaway cards as framing devices and why neither Dakota nor Sherry have nothing to be sorry about.
  • How is The Walking Dead Universe going to reconcile with nuclear fallout that occurred in the past?

  • Trying to reconcile Rollie’s & Riley’s motivations (and how Rachael thought Riley was going to be a good-guy).
  • Actually? The nuclear devastation is worse than it looked, but it could’ve been massively worse (for TWDU).
  • Yes, that was Isabelle in the helicopter (and she will be in Season 7). Sherrandy’s theory on her involvement.
  • Dave waxing on Victor Strand’s moment and his massive setup for Season 7. Rachael thinks he’s finally is the bad guy. Sherrandy thinks he’s doing the wrong thing for the right reasons. Dave thinks he’s a survivor that wants to be a good guy.
  • What made Victor continue down his devolution after Daniel Salazar spares him? Spoiler Alert: Jealousy.
  • The Alamo: Hey Strand, remember what happened (t)here. However you feel about Strand, would you want him on your team?
  • Rachael’s bone to pick: the magic of nuclear bombs.
  • Despite the critics, Ian Goldberg & Andrew Chambliss are still here. Tyrion Lannister thinks you should watch HJM Edits recent music video titled "Sweater Weather" covering all seasons of Fear The Walking Dead, thus far:
  • Brigadoon and The etymology of "Briga"
  • Yes, Sarah Rabinowitz can do anything, despite the critics.
  • Alexa Nisenson’s favorite Charlie scene (was there supposed to be more)? And why did Riley go for the gun? (Here's the clip from our interview with Alexa discussing her favorite episode to film, for reference):
  • Despite the COVID, our characters still sucked face.

[Episode 138] Season 6, Episode 15 of Fear The Walking Dead, "U.S.S. Pennsylvania"

This episode really exhibits both the distinctions and the dark mirror parallels many of our characters have with one another, which has sincerely allowed us to take their totality into account. Should our characters be simpler? Should our heroes be super and our villains lean in? Tell us what you think!
The unedited episode is a RIOT: between the spicy pre-show, the massive amounts of expounded upon facts that were edited out during the recording, as well as the short but sweet post show, why not download a copy while supporting the podcast you know and love? Click here:

David Cameo:
Rachael Burt:

  • Watch Dave React to this episode:

  • We resign ourselves to love the complicated nature of our characters: they keep us guessing.
  • Why we don't bother discussing obvious points/Easter Eggs and giving credit where credit is due.
  • Speaking of credit, how about Brian Castrillo being 1000% correct with his predictions about Riley and the other Naval Officers on the U.S.S. Pennsylvania joining the enders?

  • SSBN-735 (on Riley’s shirt) designation of USS Pennsylvania.

  • @blazygardener freaking out Michael Satrazemis with her LOST parallels (among other memes)
  • Why isn’t Morgan Jones covered in guts/blood after escaping the walkers? The undead sub-crew is surprisingly clean, too.
  • Morgan is trying to spare Grace Mukherjee the blame of the missile launch.
  • Annoyed with Morgan's pity party: mimicking John Dorie Sr (parallels).
  • Leaning into villainy: if Dakota can do it, so can you, Victor Strand.

  • Strand is doing it for everybody? Does it matter if (he thinks) that's true?
  • Strand's envy: People follow Morgan because they want to, not because he owes them anything.
  • Victor is a lot like Gamma/Mary (from TWD): an erstwhile villain found the right people, first, and found the potential to become a hero.
  • Characters we love (to hate) and why we want them to stick around: contrasting Victor's and Negan's sins.

  • Morgan is alone at the dam at the start of the episode: like June Dorie's last goodbye at John's Cabin, it feels like he'll never see it again.
  • Where are the rest of the dam residents (Nora and all the office building dwellers, etc)?
  • Morgan & Victor have the goods on one another.
  • Quotable Characters making Questionable Decisions: our next podcast idea.
  • Comparing/Contrasting Victor to Dwight: Even D has done some pretty horrible things.
  • That satisfying moment Dorie Sr finally has over the radio with Teddy Maddox.
  • Thinking about the bleached bones (skelehorse/skelerider) from TWD 10x19, One More that could be Victor on horseback (if you want to hear our discussion of that episode, head here, to [Episode 123])
  • Radioactive walker was a member of Teddy’s flock, but what was her purpose?
  • Radioactive material may have leaked out of the missiles, rendering them less potent.
  • Walter (Sub-ewski, Emile's victim from the start of the season) obviously had a crisis of conscience, with respect to his shipmate/mutiny-mate, Riley, and The Enders' ultimate plan.
  • A lesson(?) in body decomposition inside an airtight(?) submarine.
  • Season 4 parallel: 150 crew members reminds us of the signs indicating the number of walkers posted by The Vultures.
  • Where will the nukes hit? Ginny’s franchises? Dakota most-likely revealed, to Teddy, the dam settlement's location.
  • This episode allowed us to understand Dakota a little more, by way of comparing her actions to the actions of others (like an M.C. Escher painting).

  • Sarah Rabinowitz & Daniel Salazar giving us humor (giving us life).
  • Letting Teddy & Riley go would tell our group where not to go or where Alicia Clark might be. Can’t really blame Riley and the Enders for Athena’s death.
  • Mutually assured destruction: Morgan and Strand.
  • Happy 15th Birthday Alexa Nisenson, we recorded on your birthday! And big ups to Maxine from the UK, who joined us for the recording!

[Episode 137] Season 6, Episode 14 of Fear The Walking Dead, "Mother"

It feels like we've been watching this season forever: as hard has it is to believe, we're nearing the end (which takes us back to the very beginning). We may have overanalyzed Dakota's motivations a little too much this episode, but it's allowed us to uncover some fascinating parallels in the process.
The Unedited Episode Recording is yours to keep when you support us, but did you know that your support also allows you to join us during our recording sessions, so that you can lend us your insights in the chat? For these perks and more, click here:

David Cameo:
Rachael Burt:

  • Alicia’s amazing makeup shows us ho sleep-deprived she's been, the past few weeks.
  • Dakota doesn’t know right from wrong, because of her upbringing, but we don’t know enough about Dakota to feel bad for her.
  • Dave thinks Dakota is playing the long con.
  • The benefit to keeping complicated characters around, like Negan.
  • The Hilltop leadership rule: 1st in charge shits the bed, while 2nd in command runs the show.
  • Rachael's theory, Teddy engenders jealousy in Dakota by giving Alicia special attention.
  • Rachael would totally drink Teddy’s Kool-Aid. Also, still #TeamRiley.
  • Dave predicted Teddy's sack-grab (and how he picked it up from "The Row")
  • Dakota’s uses same comments about Victor Strand as Cole had: Further proof of long con?
  • Don't expect happy endings from #TWDUniverse: You might not get what you want, but you’ll like what you get.
  • This mummy's not Teddy’s Mommy? A previous victim/Alicia/"Mother"?
  • Teddy knows he’s bad.
  • Alicia is exactly what Teddy is looking for because she does the opposite of what he wants/tells her.
  • Both Alicia and both John Dories having the role of hero thrust upon them.

  • Dakota protecting Teddy possibly breaking the pattern of Alicia assuming the role of "Mother" (or possibly dying).
  • Do Teddy’s followers know anything about his plan?
  • Go full Camus: Embrace what you are, be it hero, villain, or pawn.
  • Dave really struggles with his feelings toward Dakota: if she doesn't go full evil, what was this all for?
  • Alicia can kill if it's absolutely necessary, but it doesn’t mean she wants to, Dakota.
  • Great choice bringing Cole/Sebastian Sozzi back for this episode. Too bad AMC/the trailer/opening credits spoiled it for some.
  • Remembering when Viv pulled a gun on "Naomi" back at The Diamond, back in Season 4.
  • Cole mentions Motel #4 which we saw on Derek’s mural as one of the spots The Enders hit.
  • Meaningful poses in Cole's line-up: Alicia has her hands out/open while Dakota hides hers behind her back.
  • The Gregory Brothers, Major to Minor/Minor to Major Happy Sad Songs
(truthfully, they never did Yellow Submarine, but this guy did - as well as a bunch of other songs)

  • Writers hopefully keeping us on our toes: Trying to see Dakota on the whole character (not just how much we hate her)
  • Comparing Charlie and Dakota’s situations: The ability to see the point of view of all characters, even villains.
  • Dakota is our first, possibly full-tilt child villain in #TWDUniverse. Otherwise, this show is making us go completely crazy
  • Who is Dakota’s dad (Riley, duh, did you even watch [Episode 135])?
  • Mabel’s Parts: M.others A.lways B.ring E.xtra L.ove

  • Theories (possibly from Dalton Ross of Entertainment Weekly?) about Alicia dying: breaking the loop?
  • Contemplating The Queens Gambit discussion in Damage from the Inside (FearTWD 6x07): Dakota & Ed Gein discuss the strategy, but who is the sacrificed pawn? John? Dakota?
  • Alicia kills as a last resort, but Cole has no idea who Alicia has become no what Madison Clark used to be.
  • When good characters break bad, like Rick Grimes in the bar giving The Savior remainders "his word": it allows us to completely understand where Cole lives.
  • Alicia Clark was almost Ashley Bennett.
  • So much blue. Does it still mean harbinger of death?
  • Rachael's bone to pick with Teddy's 1st walker disposal.
  • @CindyJ1019 really tried finding Dave saying Grace's last name!
  • Cole, "I thought you died in the fire, too, Alicia," indicating that even he knows Madison is dead!

  • Morning Glories remind us of Bluebonnets
  • Is Riley, himself, part of the submarine crew? And speaking of the sub, remember Walter Subewski, from the 1st episode? He was wearing a naval uniform, too.

  • 2x Nuclear Arms Keys, 2x Saint Christopher Medallions.
  • Ouroboros: Dwight chasing Sherry, Alicia running away from Teddy, and even Morgan Jones stopping Alicia with The Art of Peace
  • Will Charlie be the breaker of loops?

Introducing #JohnDorieSr: an almost #WhatIf version of #JohnDorie, had he been allowed to survive this rough world. What's terrific about this episode is that it provides tons of closure for everyone involved, which is super-duper rare in #TWDUniverse; I feel like we've been saying that a lot lately (that #FTWD, yet again, offers us something that we've never experienced).
We literally cut out 20 whole minutes in the middle of this episode because it was too contentious and didn't get us anywhere. We're really curious about your thoughts, though, because the conversation revolved around whether June could ever find love in someone else, again. For that, the hefty and spicy pre-show, and the non-existent post-show (someone was a little too trigger happy), head here:

David Cameo:
Rachael Burt:

  • The Walking Dead is coming back in August of 2021.
  • Johnny O’Dell is no longer social media manager of Skybound's @TheWalkingDead account:
  • Did you miss these fantastic @FearTWD social media marketing campaigns from Season 5?
  • #BelieveInJune t-shirts! Get yours via @Cosmomom09, right now, or check our our booth at The Camp!
  • @UnderTheFeather was designer of the #BelieveInJune T-Shirts: check out her site, FeatherAndMoon.com
  • John Dorie Sr. joins the fight and brings valuable information about Theodore "Teddy" Maddox.
  • Serendipitous timing, reading John Dorie’s letter to June Dorie, right when everyone witnessing it was ready to listen (especially John Sr. & Sherry).
  • Both June & John Sr. can’t face the truth.
  • When and why John Sr. opens up a little, lets us in on Dorie history, and how he proposed to Mrs. Dorie.
  • June doesn’t need anyone’s help (except from Dwight and Sherry)!
  • The day we learned Dave tortured his younger brother, Isaac.
  • Sherry witnesses the depths Dorie Sr's obsession can do to someone.
  • Sherry’s trauma doesn’t excuse her acting out, but don't forget how horrible it was.
  • Dwight's wisdom: Say you get what you want, then what?
  • The incredibly emotional moment when June returns Dwight's & Sherry's rings.
  • If we didn't know any better, this could have been the season finale.
  • It's always good to be honest about what we want to see as viewers.
  • Go to Talking Dead or @BlazyGardner for the details: we go deeper.
  • Crawling Walker (at Tank Town) looks like Dwight, with its half burned face. Skater boi/Gaunt-framed Austin Amelio
  • June on the title card(?): make-up/costume tests @jojokatsaras posted of Keith Carradine gave us pause
  • Christine Evangelista & Austin almost fall off Rollie Mask Horse.

  • Birds nest evoked Robinett’s Eggery feelings (over Grace Mukherjee's miscarriage).
  • "Sperm to worm", embalming keeps the "unworthy" out, "crazy as a cut snake", and "kick rocks"!
  • That Dwight doesn't despise Rollie more than one often would says a lot about Dwight.

  • The wolf and Eagle/Hawk(/Owl?) on the back of JD Sr’s RV.
  • Madisonville is located North of Grimes, TX.
  • Sheriff’s hat(?) on the keychain to John Sr's truck (that Morgan Jones helped fix in The Door).
  • What is/Where is The Orchard? Check @BlazyGardener & @Cosmomom09's ongoing FearTWD Google Maps Project!
  • Why June hesitates to tell Sr. about Jr.’s death.
  • June’s last goodbye to The Dorie Cabin
  • Don’t throw out a whole friendship over a single disagreement/argument.
  • Do not miss our theory ๐Ÿ”ดLivestream [Episode 135] Finding John Dorie Sr.! We make some incredible predictions about Sr's whereabouts for the last 40 years!
  • Morgan can't afford to blame himself for Grace's miscarriage (much like Victor Strand won't show his emotional cards).
  • 40 years apart and John Jr. still ended up like his dad: Sharp-shooter, proposing with candy wrapper, and punishing himself.
  • The feeling John Sr. might've felt when seeing Jr.'s grave marker and confusing it for his own.

  • Hill has been at the cabin for several weeks: why hasn't he/it changed much?
  • Why June is avoiding The Hospital.
  • Why "It’s not too late" is not only repeated, often, but Dorie Jr.'s last words.
  • Why Sr. should've stayed in Jr.'s life.
  • Dwight's Horse was wearing Rollie's mask!
  • Why you should play JackBox games with us (from one of our TeeKO games, shirts you can actually purchase for yourselves!):

  • Hats-off to Aisha Tyler at an amazing job, directing this episode!
