- This episode of Better Call Saul is titled Breaking Bad, which mirrors the Breaking Bad episode titled Better Call Saul (2x08), where we first meet Saul Goodman. Jimmy McGill meets Walter White and Jesse Pinkman for the first time on this series.
- The episode begins with the same scene from its mirror episode in Breaking Bad, but from Saul Goodman's perspective.
- Francesca Liddy is most likely having difficulty finding a stable job due to her employment under Saul Goodman.
- Props to 🎖SURVIVORS Tier Member (and talented artist) Linda Peck Athens on correctly guessing that the gas station in this episode is the same one in Breaking Bad where Jesse trades meth for gas (3x04 Greenlight). Eventually, Hank Schrader is able to grab the license plate number off of The Crystal Ship (Jesse & Walt's mobile meth lab) from the ATM outside.
- In the Breaking Bad spin-off film, El Camino, Skinny Pete and Badger devise a plan to trick the cops by leaving Jesse's car down by the border. We find out via Francesca's call with Saul that this plan succeeded.
- We also find out that Huell Babineaux was freed due to being held "under false pretenses by the D.E.A." and returned to New Orleans.
- Francesca fails to reveal Patrick Kuby's fate. Tap the picture to find out why Bill Burr was unable to reprise his role on Better Call Saul.
- Saul also asks about Danny Wormald, who we first see associating with Mike Ehrmantraut and Ignacio "Nacho" Varga in early seasons of Better Call Saul. In Breaking Bad he owns Lazer Base laser tag. Then Ira, the owner of Vamanos Pest.
- Francesca finally reveals that Kim Wexler called to check on her and even inquired about her former lover, Jimmy McGill.
- Bill Oakley is now a defense attorney.
- Is this - her hanging up on Saul - Francesca Liddy's last goodbye in the Breaking Bad Universe?
- What actually happened during the heated (and disconcerting) phone call between Jimmy and Kim?
- Will the next episode feature the return of Kim Wexler?
- The Better Call Saul Insider Podcast revealed that due having to recast the role of Jeff - since actor, Don Harvey, was unable to commit - they changed the storyline for the character to suit actor, Pat Healy.
- Does Gene Takovic decide to continue scamming the cancer victim (played by Kevin Sussman) because he saw how ruthless Walter White became, despite his cancer diagnosis?
- Does Gene view scamming him as a way to get back at Walter White for ruining his life?
- This episode features a callback to Breaking Bad episode 4 Days Out, when the RV battery dies. In that episode, when Jesse finds out Walt has cancer, he decides to cook. In this episode, when Buddy finds out that Kevin Sussman's character has cancer, he refuses to participate.
- One of the drivers licenses featured in the scam montage has the name of Writer & Producer, Tom Schnauz, who directed this particular episode.
- In the flashback to the Breaking Bad era, in Saul's office with Mike, Saul jokingly refers to Walter White's mustache, saying, "a guy with a facial hair like that has to be making bad decisions," which is poignant given his poor decision making in the Gene Takovic timeline.
- The first Identity Theft scam is done on a character named Alfred Hawthorne Hill, which so happens to be the real name of actor/comedian Benny Hill.
- Since Kim is working at a Sprinkler Factory, is it safe to assume that the next episode, Waterworks, is going to be a Kim-centric episode?
- What role will Marion have a hand in, if any at all, on the series' remaining episodes?
- What awaits us in the penultimate episode of Better Call Saul?
