[Percolation Nation] January, 2021

Why miss out? Get the latest updates in your E-Mail Inbox:
Welcome to our 14th Percolation Nation! This blog highlights our ☕Ko-fi backers' generous contributions for the month of January, 2021! ICYMI, we detail the benefits of supporting us on Ko-fi in our first-ever Percolation Nation.
If you like what we're doing, want to join us during our recording sessions, and/or (at least) want to pick up Early Access to our Unedited Episode Recordings, head over to our Ko-fi page and just follow us (by creating a account). Watch our intro video, view our funding goal (currently: self-sufficiency), and scroll through the feed to see who's backed us. Ultimately, you are going to want to check out the posts section to view all the supporter-backed content you're entitled to when you join the nation! When you see something you want access to, just buy us a ☕coffee!

Some House-Keeping:

  • It's the off-season and we've been continuing to catch up on Episode Blogs from the horror-in-the-beauty that was 8-straight-weeks of two episodes a week. I know we rake over this point, every now and again, but our priority - at the time - was to record and edit episodes in a timely fashion so they would be available for you to digest the week of, rather than fall behind. That meant many hours past our bed time editing with some days of no sleep, but also sacrificing time the time we'd normally spend creating those Episode Blogs and making clips (creator burn-out is a real thing). Now that we're catching up on both clips and blogs, we're noticing that you, too, probably didn't have enough time to listen to the podcast and the numbers have actually been pretty stable since the last bit of #TWDUniverse content aired on AMC. Hooray for us!
  • We've been trying to resurrect #AMPLIFRIDAY and our Weekly Jackbox Party Pack games.
    • #AMPLIFRIDAY was something I was workshopping in my mind about a year ago and had been pretty consistent with until around TWD 10x15. Essentially, every Friday, at midnight, I'd send out a call-to-action in our stories to give you the floor to tell the world anything and we would share it out. It doesn't have to be #TWD related at all! We've tried to bring it back and we've been doing it every other week, so far. Now that Twitter has Fleets, we've thrown your #AMPLIFRIDAY shouts there, rather than retweeting them. We'll do our best to be more consistent with this.
    • We've been pretty consistent, these past 3 weeks, bringing back our Weekly Wednesday Jackbox Games on our Twitch Channel. What's been really great is that we've made it so ☕Ko-fi Backers have the ability to actually join us on stream, while we play! Yet, another little bonus perk for those of you who've been generous enough to support our endeavors and join [Percolation Nation].
  • Speaking of Twitch, a funny thing happened to us while we were catching up on our blog, last Sunday: Dylan Guerra was hosting the TWDUniverse Twitch channel and, as a fun thing to do with fans, was pulling archetype cards for one random fan in the chat. We were that random person in the chat. We happen to think the card he pulled was wildly apropos, but what do you think?

Where, at first, we thought we wouldn't have much to talk about, the further we discussed this episode, the more we learned about Elton, the zombie apocalypse as nature's "big f*ck you", and human nature as a whole (also, how many of us want Pluto's designation as a planet reinstated!)

[Episode 108] Season 6, Episode 3 of Fear The Walking Dead, "Alaska"

↑↑↑↑↑↑Click the above graphic to listen in your favorite Podcasts App↑↑↑↑↑↑

In our largely Althea-centric episode, we celebrate the sibling-esque friendship she has with Dwight. There's joy-on-tap with some characters where, before, there was none. This episode, in many ways, holds a mirror to the last few but, in other ways, shows how different they are and how far they've come (in mostly great ways)... and we, of course, go through it all!

[Episode 107] The Walking Dead: World Beyond | 1x04 | The Wrong End of a Telescope

↑↑↑Click the above graphic to listen in your favorite Podcasts App↑↑↑

Admittedly, this episode is a bit of a slow burn; however, that doesn't mean we don't get a few heaping spoonsful of eye-opening character development and emotional moments. The only thing we know, for sure, is how unsure we are of where the story might go next: the slight-of-hand, typical of #TWDUniverse, is in full effect.
