#TheEndIsTheBeginning: We finally meet the cult that's been the backdrop since the 1st scene of the season premiere, 11 episodes in. We go into their motivations, the components that actually make them a cult, and outline the means by which they might just be the biggest threat in #TWDUniverse.
Dave dropped a HUGE theory (that we hope the show explores) in the pre-show that will only be available in the Unedited Episode Recording. If you want that, as well as the chunks we edited in the middle, as well and the post-show, while supporting your favorite #podcast, head here:
A very strange "interview": Riley is just letting everyone talk.
Information Control - Teddy knows all: he is the hub, through all communication flows.
Keith Carradine could be Riley’s dad, brother, or future Riley?
Dave catches a mistake: filming during COVID-19
Teddy answers Wes’ question for Derek, "Who are you, if not my sheep?"
Wes' denial: can't even believe his brother is too far gone during the struggle for Derek's gun.
"Remember to try / the rhubarb pie"
Silver Linings: Wes has some closure. Derek's end is his new beginning.
They’ve been setting this narrative up since Season 5.
What does it mean? Keeping the maps and recon in an empty can of Harper's Condensed Milk.
Are all The Enders privy to the details of Teddy's final solution?
Childlike Teddy.
What if Alicia Clark had just killed Teddy before the audience could see him come into focus?
Cognitive Dissonance Reminder: Derek knew Wes was at Tank Town.
Ender’s could have been allowing our gang to take Derek all the way to the dam.
The legend of Morgan Jones: the tapes Althea made and his walkie pronouncement (just live) had an even greater effect than originally anticipated.
...but it could just be about the key he retrieved from Emile: how do they know he has it?
A spy? Nora’s co-workers make up most of the Dam residents (so nope!) and if Rachel were the spy, The Enders would already know the Dam's location (had plenty of time to give them intel).
Derek's log book describes Luciana Galvez and an Elementary School: geographical boundaries are the safest area for kids to learn.
Paige was an Ender in Bury Her Next to Jasper’s Leg: scratching out 32 people to 31.
Dwight to Althea Szewczyk-Przygocki sounds like Rick Grimes to Morgan (but not exactly), "If you don’t check in, I'll come find you."
Will The Walking Dead: World Beyond and Fear The Walking Dead meet/reference/crossover?
Constant Reminder: Don’t base a characters fate on the actors schedule.
Teddy's psychopathic socks and sandals: the meaning of the color blue (socks). Possible Teddy vs Victor STRAND-off?
How long can The Enders really survive underground?
The significance of seeing an embalmed Civic Republic Military soldier.
Derek’s mural: Nora’s building, Tank Town, Motel #4, Austin's Pennybacker Bridge, and Lawton/Humbug's Gulch?
It's Wes’ novel/manuscript, not Derek’s?! Why?! Our Derek/Wes name swap theory, acknowledged?!
Following in your brother's footsteps: @MystYang's brother, @RipYang.
Addressing possible continuity issues: Angela Kang and Carol Peletier’s claustrophobia.
Morgan to Dakota, "We’re not there yet."
Possible parallel to Daniel Salazar: What will it look like for Morgan to settle.
Hate Morgan? Alicia was the one "sticking her neck out" for Dakota.
How to determine if your group is a cult: Steven Hassan’s B.I.T.E. Model of Authoritarian Control: Behavioral, Informational, Thought, and Emotional control.
Morgan predicts The Enders will move (Alicia) to an alternative location.
Why Madison Clark won't be returning.
Harvey, the embalmer: played by Dean Neistat, he is YouTuber Casey Neistat’s younger brother.
Colman Domingo will be Guest Professor at University of Southern California (and may have gotten the idea from Dean Neistat).
Being a realist/slave to only the story: we will accept all ships and theories, as long as the writers can get us to accept it.

This one kicked us in the feels, then proceeded to kick us, again, while we were down. We're starting to notice some emerging parallels: #MorganJones attempting pulling #GraceMukherjee out of her agony in the last episode, where #JohnDorieSr is (in this episode) attempting to pull #JuneDorie out. Both men having gone through longterm personal turmoil, now finally able to try to pull their counterparts out of their own quagmire. And, of course, #VictorStrand being the one to bring the Dories to safety... π€
We had a lot of laughs and talked about a LOT of behind-the-scenes things during the pre-show and post-show to this episode! To find out what those things were, stream the unedited episode recording, while supporting this #podcast! Click here:
David Cameo:
Rachael Burt:
Sherrandy Swift: AKA @BlazyGardener
Dave shares the way in which he proposed to his wife.
Continuing the conversation we had last week: Now seeing flaws in June Dorie.
June is stuck in her routine at the Cabin, but underground.
John Dorie Senior has sneaking suspicions of June’s issues.
Senior saying all the things Junior did.
Dakota saves June and Senior, yet again.
Claustrophobic episode: inside John's mask & the bunker.
Senior goes through withdrawals while dealing with the horrors of the world.
But why did June want Theodore Maddox's kill room covered up?
Ouroboros: Sherrandy notices The End Is The Beginning circular symbolism throughout the episode.
Teddy’s monologue/master plan from episode 6x11: The Holding, written out on the notepad.
Is being with Victor Strand the best for June? Senior is not happy about it.
John Francis Dorie V; June can finally face the loss of John Francis Dorie VI when she’s pinned under beams.
Senior repeating "It’s never too late" not just reminds us of Junior.
Parallel: June jabs Senior with the syringe like Wes at Tank Town, as well as Charlie jabbing Ed Gein at Buck’s Landing.
COVID-19 references: the need to create an airlock to "keep the bad stuff out".
There's plenty of blame to go around:Morgan Jones & Strand are both culpable for the missile launch. Remains to be seen whether Morgan really wants Victor to save their friends. Also, why Sherrandy is now #TeamStrand.
John Jr’s hat wrapped in plastic on June’s backpack; the repercussions to June staying with Strand; Will Strand hook a reluctant Senior via his detective skills?
We know have 3 assholes from all 3 #TWDUniverse shows who want to shape the world in their own image. Yay...
Madison Clark leading the Stalkers? Tess, Wendell, and the kids? ex-Civic Republic Military soldiers? Bea and Fred’s neighbors, in town?
SURVIVORS Tier Member, Jasmine, teaches us about alcohol withdrawal symptoms.
Ghost Cindy?
They actually did what we wanted and brought back Emile LaRoux (Josiah LaRoux), but why are we not that happy?
The Mamas and the PapasCalifornia Dreamin': June is dreaming about her promised life with John Jr. with Sr.; the weather outside is always shitty; the song foretells a future divorce,
Ouroboros on Teddy’s box of scraps just like Alpha’s belt buckle, which also reminds us of Alicia Clark's painting at The Franklin Hotel bunker/conference room.
Don’t forget about Luciana Galvez, who follows anyone who vocalizes half a plan.

Therapy Circle? More like Group Therapy: all of us were affected by the tragedy of this episode (not just the death of #JohnDorie, but the unstoppable-force-meets-immovable-object of both his and Dakota's ideologies) and, by the end of this recording, we realized that this episode ended up being more of a love letter to our dearly departed than anything else... and that just made sense.
Although this was quite a long recording, our pre/post show recordings continue the healing process, if you can believe it. we continue discussing this episode far more frankly in the unedited version. To grab it and join us in the next recording while supporting this #podcast, head here:
To Believe by The Cinematic Orchestra: Perfect song playing while John Dorie is falling under water.
The Zombie Apocalypse doesn’t change John (like it does other #TWDUniverse characters), he just became a cowboy full time (instead of just on weekends).
The symbol of hope.
Parallels to Meet John Doe.
The catalyst for June’s transformation.
#BelieveInJune
We’re all going to miss John.
#DIEkota.
Even John’s death will mean something.
Understanding Dakota’s point of view, product of her environment.
Dave finally admits Dakota saved Morgan Jones.
Timeline triggers!
2 weeks since John saw June: she can’t risk Ginny's Rangers finding him.
Should Morgan give June the scrabble tiles (Goodbye June)?
Rabbi Jacob Kessner has the letter John wrote to June in The Key.
John bears the weight of Janis’ death.
Parallels to Laura: John cleaning his guns in the beginning of both episodes.
Meet John Doe playing while John prepares to take his own life (D.B. Norton, the antagonist, telling him his suicide will mean nothing).
Melissa McBride on set during the filming of Laura.
John is too good for this world: mixed feelings about (not) killing Marcus.
It’s been a long time since we’ve lost a main character. Remember when @Celtictso educated us on "radioactive blood" hitting Alicia’s mouth?
Could John have evolved into someone who could live in this new world?
We killed John Dorie?
Had John survived, we wouldn't recognize him.
June will carry The John Dorie Movement forward.
What does Fear The Walking Dead look like without its characters inspiring hope?
John lived in a bubble that would've eventually popped.
It's not The Zombie Apocalypse that transforms John: It's Love.
Had June never met John, June would've turned out a lot different.
June allows John to live in this world: we've seen him waiver with Dwight & Strand.
The Zombie Apocalypse is a free for all: a world with no consequences.
Could(n't) anyone have sympathy for Dakota?
June will survive John’s death, but how will Morgan fair?
Charlie taking out Dakota might be more palatable to the audience (than Morgan murdering a child). June could also coerce Ginny to kill Dakota (via @BlazyGardener)
More Parallels: Charlie handing John his hat right side up; Dakota hands it to him upside down.
Dakota vs. Charlie: similar, but completely different circumstances.
We know nothing about Virginia & Dakota’s estranged relationship.
There were literally know hints that Dakota saved Morgan (with many opportunities to chime in).
Symmetry with the water line: Beginning with John in the canoe; Ending with him falling into the water.
Heavy attention on John Dorie Sr.: his pistols, truck, and the picture of he and John Dorie Jr.
Dakota and (sympathy for) psychopaths.
Virginia’s genuine, but confusing (given our lack of knowledge) love for Dakota.
@Blazygardener reverses course: says Ginny manipulated June into saving her life in Tank Town.
Rumor has it The End is the Beginning death cult is the most formidable antagonist in The Walking Dead Universe. Sure could've used a sharp-shooter for that...
John wanted to be free of The Passed/Past
Sherrandy is Morgan, "You gave me this family, man"
Even Fear The Walking Dead's critics mostly rallied around John Dorie's demise.
Even Seasons 1-3 allow you to appreciate Season 6: watching Alicia’s steady growth.
The world, to Dakota, has no meaning: People, to her, have no inherent value.
What is a fair punishment for Dakota? If she's seeking a world with consequences, she might just get more than she bargained for.
#TWDUniverseFamily is the best: it's why we do this.
With enough determination, you might just get what you want, John, even if you try to pull back at the last moment.
June's memento mori with walker John: she, of all characters, can afford to stop time.
another thank you to AMC & Valhalla for delaying this episode.
Further analysis on To Believe by The Cinematic Orchestra: In this fantastic world, where belief is essential to reality, in the absence of anything to believe in, be the person in whom others can believe.

Introducing #JohnDorieSr: an almost #WhatIf version of #JohnDorie, had he been allowed to survive this rough world. What's terrific about this episode is that it provides tons of closure for everyone involved, which is super-duper rare in #TWDUniverse; I feel like we've been saying that a lot lately (that #FTWD, yet again, offers us something that we've never experienced).
We literally cut out 20 whole minutes in the middle of this episode because it was too contentious and didn't get us anywhere. We're really curious about your thoughts, though, because the conversation revolved around whether June could ever find love in someone else, again. For that, the hefty and spicy pre-show, and the non-existent post-show (someone was a little too trigger happy), head here:
Of course, we mourn the loss of @JohnnyODell behind the wheel of @TheWalkingDead. He MADE that account what it is and nobody can take his place, plus wear as many hats as he did. ...however, looking forward to more "Johnny Uncaged" (on socials) and success in his future endeavors https://t.co/m7ua8EIngd
Alicia has another KILLER COMBO! Come back next weekend to see if anyone can dethrone this walker killing machine! Stream the latest episode of #FearTWD On Demand or the AMC App! pic.twitter.com/4B3nZaqOKC
Don’t throw out a whole friendship over a single disagreement/argument.
Do not miss our theory π΄Livestream [Episode 135] Finding John Dorie Sr.! We make some incredible predictions about Sr's whereabouts for the last 40 years!
Morgan can't afford to blame himself for Grace's miscarriage (much like Victor Strand won't show his emotional cards).
40 years apart and John Jr. still ended up like his dad: Sharp-shooter, proposing with candy wrapper, and punishing himself.
The feeling John Sr. might've felt when seeing Jr.'s grave marker and confusing it for his own.
Hill has been at the cabin for several weeks: why hasn't he/it changed much?
Why June is avoiding The Hospital.
Why "It’s not too late" is not only repeated, often, but Dorie Jr.'s last words.
